+1 to a lot of what you said. I’m in this weird position. I’m uninterested in dating, but I want deep and long-lasting mutually beneficial companionship. I feel ready but so many men, whom I am romantically, physically, and sexually attracted to, don’t seem ready for a woman like me. I’m tired of being consumed. It’s exhausting. For once I’d like a man who’s emotionally and otherwise compatible to be ready for me. 🥲

I feel this girl! I definitely want that kind of relationship too, but the road to getting there (dating) can be brutal sometimes. I think we've just got to hang in there and trust that the right person is coming!

So interesting!! Definitely agree on gender expectations changing things in a more unprecedented way. I also wonder if a rise in therapy has something to do with it too? All anecdotal ofc but I can see how if people are working through their issues, gaining confidence, learning what healthy relationships look like, focusing on their mental health etc. then they might not be interested in dating or are only accepting good quality/reciprocal relationships vs being in a relationship just to be in one

I definitely think therapy has had an impact and goes in line with the expectations in relationships being higher. As we evolve as people we naturally want to be in companionship with others who've also done the work.
